Electric Power Play Review

Ah, Thomas Edison. The man, the myth, the mildly electrocuted legend. Before he lit up our lives, we were just medieval toddlers bumping into walls, stubbing toes on chamber pots, and blaming the moon for everything 🌚. Simpler times.

And no, he didn’t technically invent the light bulb (shoutout to the 22 guys before him who got friend-zoned by history), but he monetized it – and in America, that’s what really counts 💸.

So next time you’re doom-scrolling at 2am with the glow of your ring light bouncing off your forehead, say a little thank you to Tommy 🙏.

Which brings us to Electric Power Play slot from GameArt – a crash game where your mission is to bail before the whole thing short-circuits and your win gets fried 🍳!

Gameplay

I really like the way this game is designed – it gives off strong Cluedo-meets-Industrial-Revolution energy.

You’re dropped into a dimly lit courtyard, where 10 lonely light bulbs are lined up on the ground, and Edison’s pacing around in a three-piece suit, either panicking… or busting out some weird little dance. And we’re the lucky guinea pigs in his backyard science fair.

Stealing the focus is a bulky, steampunk-style power generator. Below that is your control panel – neat and simple. Bet/Play button in the middle, Side Bet on the left, Volume and Rules to the right.

Underneath, your bet change controls with plus/minus toggles, and below that, your Balance and Bet Amount windows.

Now, in my experience with crash games, this one’s unnecessarily complicated. There’s a lot more to it than just placing a bet and cashing out before whatever the “concept” is crashes – and in this case, it’s a very sketchy-looking power generator.

So let me take you through how to play it, so you don’t get caught in the crosshairs like I did. I thought I was placing bets and playing… turns out, I was just blankly staring at Edison wondering why he was staring back at me. It was a timing thing.

Here are four (rather detailed) steps on how to play:
SET YOUR MAIN AND SIDE BET

You can do this directly from the control panel on the main screen, or by heading into Bet Settings for a deeper dive.

Just make sure you’ve locked in your Main Bet before selecting a Side Bet –
otherwise, the system’s not having it.

Once you hit Play, the generator becomes a countdown timer. It starts at 10 seconds, but bets close when there are 2 seconds left - so you’ve basically got 8 seconds to make your move.

For the Side Bet, just pick a light bulb to bet on. If that bulb explodes, you win the side bet, and the payout is your main bet multiplied by the bulb’s multiplier.

WATCH THE MULTIPLIERS CLIMB

When the timer ends, the game begins. The generator starts zapping up win multipliers, which keep climbing until either: a) you collect in time, or b) the generator overloads and fries poor Edison.

The longer you wait, the bigger the multipliers can potentially climb – ranging from 1x to 1,000x.

Hit the max multiplier, and the game ends automatically, cashing you out like the patient genius you are.

HIT COLLECT

Now’s your moment! The Bet/Play button turns into a Collect button. Hit Collect before the generator explodes, or risk walking away with nothing but the smell of burnt hair.

WAIT FOR THE SIDE BET OUTCOME

If you collected in time, stick around to see if your Side Bet hits. If the bulb you chose for your Side Bet explodes, congrats – you just won that too. If not… Well, Edison’s dance was still entertaining.

If all this feels like Engineering 101 and you’d rather not manually time your clicks like you’re defusing a toaster bomb, just switch on Autoplay and Auto Cashout. It’s what I do.

You can set your number of rounds, Loss Limit, Win Limit, and Single Win Limit.

Now, here’s what you’re playing with: variable volatility, and a 96% RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.

RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate.
. And here’s what you’re playing for: a max win of $250,000 and max multiplier of 10,000x.

Features

There are no additional features to discuss.

Performance

I tested this game across multiple devices – desktop, tablet, and mobile – and it played perfectly on all of them.

Load times are fast, the animations do their thing, and there’s no lag or glitching.

Maximum Win

In Electric Power Play slot, you can collect up to 10,000x or $250,000 – with bets ranging from as low as $0.10 to as high as $250.

Conclusion

This is definitely one of the more complex crash games I’ve played. But given the whole “Edison frying light bulbs in a Victorian courtyard” concept, it kind of makes sense that it’s not as straightforward as your usual rocket-or-airplane-go-boom setup.

That said, I really like the side bet feature – it’s neat, adds some extra power, and you don’t see it often in crash games.

What I don’t like? The learning curve. There’s something to be said for the comfort of simplicity. Familiarity breeds content, right?

Which is why, when I want that clean, no-BS crash fix, I usually turn to Space XY slot from BGaming.
Same win potential. Same volatility. No PhD in electrical engineering required. Oh, and with way lower bet limits. Spend less, win the same. The math ain’t mathing.

PaylinesPaylines are preset lines that run across the reels, and when you land matching symbols on them, that will result in a payout. The more paylines, the more ways you can win, but also the higher your bet per spin.: N/A
Volatility RateSlot games can have low, medium, high, or extremely high volatility rates (or a combination thereof).

The less volatile the game, the more often it should pay out, but the lower the amount, the less the payout, as this is in keeping with the risk you’re taking. Volatility rate should be considered in conjunction with a game’s RTP.
