Snow Dragon Slot Review
I feel bad for artists back in the dark ages – not the Dark Ages, I just mean prior to the proliferation of technology. 📻
Let’s take James Lord Piermont for example. He penned the ditty The One Horse Open Sleigh – known to you and me as Jingle Bells – in 1850. 🎄
The song is undoubtedly one of history's most played and most re-recorded. Check out these facts (and the reality is probably far more impressive than these estimations):
- The song has been re-recorded more than 700 times
- It’s estimated the song is played 1 billion times per year
- The song has been used in more than 200 movies and TV shows
- It’s one of the most downloaded Xmas songs of all time
Imagine how rich the dude would’ve been if he could’ve tracked all of these uses over the ages! The copyright was sold for $25 million in 2009, which must’ve been the bargain of a lifetime. 💰
You’ll understand why I bring this up once you start reading my review of Snow Dragon slot from Zillion.
Gameplay
I feel I must warn you: if you don’t hit mute as you as you can, or preferably before you initiate Snow Dragon slot, you’ll get the gift of an earworm in the form of Jingle Bells. 😱 And you know that tune will be more persistent than a bout of gonorrhea. Or so I’ve been told.
This Asia-meets-Christmas-themed game plays out on a traditional 5x3-reel grid with 25 paylines. It looks pretty good on a mobile device, although the design leans towards the cartoony side.
The dragon Wild replaces all symbols that aren’t Scatters, and you’ll also find Bonus Coins in the game that you’ll need to enter the Hold’n’Ring feature. Scatters pay when they land, and Bonus Coins are collected.
Before we get into the good stuff, let’s wrap up the stats: there’s a 96% RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots. RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate., a high volatility rate, a 1,187x max multiplier, and a payout worth $189,920 (which is a little lower than I’d have liked to see).
Features
FREE SPINS:
Landing 3 or more Scatters will trigger this round (or you can gain entry via the Buy Bonus), and you’ll get 5 spins to start with, but these will increase during the round, so don’t worry.
The Free Spins round is also where you’ll see Expanding Shifting Wilds which can move from left to right. Wilds can be 1, 2, or 3 symbols in size.
HOLD’N’RING FEATURE:
You’ll need to hit 6 Bonus Coins to initiate this feature (or you can use the Buy Bonus option to get you there whenever you want).
It’s the usual fare – you’ll only see Bonus Coins on the grid, and they’ll become sticky when they land (triggering Coins are also sticky). You get 3 re-spins at the start, with newly landed Coins resetting the spin counter.
Among the regular Coins could be Jackpot Coins, and landing one will pay you its respective prize.
The Minor Jackpot pays 24x, the Maxi Jackpot pays 30x, the Major Jackpot is worth 100x, and the Grand Jackpot – which you get if you fill all the positions with Coins – awards 1,000x.
By the way, you’ll be paid the Jackpot amount in addition to the value of the other Coins you’ve collected during the round.
BUY BONUS:
For 100x your bet, you can buy your way into the Hold’n’Ring feature or the Free Spins round.
Performance
No performance issues cropped up while I was testing Snow Dragon slot.
Maximum Win
The betting range is rather broad; it starts at $0.11 and goes up to $160. As for the max multiplier, that’s 1,187x while the top payout is $189,920.
Conclusion
I’m definitely not the target audience of any Christmas-themed game, but I’ve suffered through Snow Dragon slot for you, dear players. I hope you appreciate it.
Actually, it didn’t bother me all that much because I could mute the sound, and a Santa’s hat on a dragon isn’t exactly overdoing the Xmas thing.
With this game, you get Expanding Wilds, Free Spins, a Hold & Win feature, okay stats, and a fair mobile experience. The Buy Bonus is a welcome addition, and I like that you can choose between 2 options.
So, all told, Snow Dragon slot is pretty decent. There’s nothing extraordinary that sets it apart from the competition, but I’d venture to say that the relatively low top payout might put some players off.
